Boris Willis and I met online. We became friends through dance-tech.net, and then on fb. I checked my fb the day before Dance-A-Day was to end, and saw that Lindsay LaPointe had posted a video of me dancing in a tree. I was mortified. But later on Boris posted that he wanted to do a tree dance too. I got to thinking, why shouldn't he still? I wrote him a message, and while I was writing lighting struck. This could be a new project - copycat dances, purposefully copying ideas (even though, i know, its already been done) as a way of vetoing the cultural emphasis on the new - which favors a discarding of the present. Inspired by Dance-A-Day, I tossed out the idea that we do these call and response style for the next year. So, here we are. Feel free to copy.
The first video was filmed and edited by Lindsay Lapointe and danced by me (Copy_). - Julie Cruse
